DragonBall Live Action Movie Summer 2008!

Great news for Dragonball fans, details have been released about the upcoming live action film!

Goku will be played by Justin Chatwin, best known for his role in War of the World's as Tom Cruise's son. The villian Piccolo is James Marsters- best known as "Spike" from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Dragonball has a release date of August 2008.

New DragonBall Z Sodas Hit Japan!

Two weeks ago, we saw the Kentucky Fried Chicken & DragonBall Z collab for the upcoming movie, DBZ: Battle of the Gods, and now they are getting new soda designs!

It is a zero calorie cola, packed with vitamins and the designs are pretty sweet!!

Dragonball Z & Kamen Rider Sodas Taste Review

In Japan, anime and characters are all over every possible piece of merchandise.  Two of our staff members tried the Dragonball Z and Kamen Rider sodas to see if they were any different!

If you like orange soda, then the Dragonball Z flavor is it! Nothing strange or different here- Just delicious orange soda!     However, Kamen Rider soda...

According to our two tasters, Kamen Rider tastes "old"(old show=old taste?) and bitter.  

The actual flavor is called "ramune" which is a lemon & lime flavor, but Kamen Rider fails to achieve that.  When asked if they would recommend to anyone, the answer was "Hell, no"-  both agreed the cans looked awesome!

Blue Dragon Anime Begins In April!

Blue Dragon anime based off an RPG by Hironobu Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy) will be relased in April 2007. Studio Pierrot (Naruto, Bleach) produced the series and is directed by Yukihiro Matsishita.
Character designs are by DragonBall's Akira Toriyama and the main charcater, Shu, is voiced by Keiko Nemoto (Shizune in Naruto).

Dragonball Live Movie Delayed

The live action movie, Dragonball, no longer has a 2008 release date. The movie has been pushed back to April 3rd, 2009.

Colonel Sanders Meets DragonBall Z

Dragonball Z's newest movie, DBZ: Battle of the Gods, comes out this March and the onslaught of marketing  merchandize is popping up everywhere in Japan!

Even Colonel Sanders joins the game dressed up as Goku! KFC Japan will have special Dragonball Z merchandise for you during this promotion.  But have no fears, I am sure it will pop on Yahoo Japan Auctions!

No Bleach Live Action Film?

Check out the LA Times for an interview with Bleach creator, Tite Kubo- Charles Solomon caught up with the creator at the San Diego Comic Con.

Bleach is the hugely popular manga, anime series in Japan and has many fans all over the world.

The Bleach creator essentially thumbs down hopes of a live action film:

"If it were possible to do 'Bleach' as a live-action movie, I wouldn't have drawn the manga. I want to draw something that can only be done as a manga."

I am sure some fans will rejoice and others disappointed with Mr. Kubo's decision, as anime fans are divided over the Dragonball Live Action Film in production now.

Dragonball Live Movie Exclusive Pictures!

Hoy Cinema has posted some photos and interviews from the upcoming film, Dragon Ball.

The live action film will star Justin Chatwin as Goku; James Marsters as Piccolo, Emmy Rossum will play Chi Chi, and Chow Yun-Fat as Master Roshi.

Akira Toriyama's manga was turned into the popular anime series Dragon Ball. After success in Japan, it was brought to the United States where it gained a huge following on the Cartoon Network.
The movie is based on the King Piccolo Saga, a 21 episode anime production.
