I do not know how I missed this Pepsi announcement but last month they released a Darth Vader energy drink!  Anyone try one yet?  Tasty? Make you evil?  Details, please!

Pepsi White Christmas

A new Pepsi winter flavor is hitting shelves in Japan- called Pepsi White but actually has a bit of tangerine flavor!  It does not release until December 11th, so hopefully we will be able to find some to give away on blog again!

Salty Watermelon Pepsi Review- And Win Your Own!

The newest Pepsi summer flavor of Japan was released into stores yesterday and we grabbed a couple!

And... it is our staff's favorite summer Pepsi flavor so far!  The following review is from our ship manager- Scott!

If you like watermelon candy, or watermelon in general, then you will love it!  It is spot on with the taste & smell of watermelon. A fruity drink & I think it would be awesome as a mixed drink with some alcohol.

As for the label "Salt" in the name, I do not taste any of that? 

I am not a soda pop drinker, but if I was, I would not mind drinking the Salty Watermelon Pepsi & It is not wacky, or way out there, like some of the Pepsi flavors released in the past (Shiso Pepsi was dumped down the toilet)  

 I think it might be very popular in the upcoming weeks.  The drink is a very colorful red, which looks like, ummm watermelon...

To my surprise the ingredients list no watermelon contents in the drink. It does contain SALT though...

I definitely recommend the newest Japan summer Pepsi edition!

Shiso Pepsi Reviews Are In!!

The summer limited edition Pepsi Shiso release came out on June 23rd and the trusty Rinkya staff obliged to a taste test and review!! Shiso is a common herb used in Japan- on salads, sashimi (my personal favorite use!) and even on pizza!

In the beginning, there was some excitement:






Then some perplexity & curiosity as the sense of taste travels to the brain:





And our apologies to Pepsi Japan, but the final analysis led to our staff rebelling:



Comments regarding taste:
"If you are in a desert maybe it would be good and you had nothing to drink"
"Medicine taste, but makes you feel worse"
"Tastes like a leaf, oishikunai (doesn't taste good")

Shiso IS a leaf, so it seems like Pepsi succeeded there!

Pepsi Blue Hawaii New Summer Japan Soda

I often wish I could be in Japan and lately my visits are getting further and further apart due to work and personal life.

But on these days, I am thankful I do not live in Japan and can make Rinkya staff members test items out for me instead. ^_-

In the case of the Mega Pizza from Pizza Hut and now Pepsi Blue Hawaii I am relieved I cannot be there to try it!

Pepsi Blue Hawaii is the newest summer offering from Pepsi Japan.
Last year's Pepsi Ice Cucumber, received fairly good reviews overall.
Blue Hawaii is a taste mixture of Pineapple and Lemon,
below are the comments from a couple members of the Rinkya staff.

Taster one:
The taste of the pineapple was weak, it tastes like blue Gatorade with tonic water. I recommend regular Pepsi instead. If I had to choose between this and Cucumber Ice, I choose Blue Hawaii. To be honest I think they both taste like %^&%.

Taster Two: A hint of lemon and pineapple, basically a really sweet Pepsi.

Taster Three:
Very refreshing the first taste, supported also by the color which gives a sense of freshness, not too sweet, and not too much gas inside.
But personally, I can't imagine drinking an entire bottle though....sorry! ^^
