Happy Friday!

Now this naughty catbus has its whiskers out of the bento box, it makes me not want to put a lid over!

I really like the dustbunnies made out of cheese and seaweed too. 

Imagine having these cheese slices at a party, to go with crackers or bread... it'd be so much fun!

A Rinkya Blog is Back!

The blog took a long hiatus and we switched to a microblogging platform over at Tumblr  but we have decided to come back to our blog!

The long hiatus was due to the birth of my baby girl last June! In 3 days she will be one year old- time flies!

Kazuo Oga Studio Ghibli Special DVD & Blu Ray Release!

Famed background artist and art director, Kazuo Oga, whose exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo was well received, will be releasing a DVD and Blu Ray on the exhibit.

Footage will contain information on Totoro's woods, commentary from his contemporaries, all 600 works that were displayed at the Museum, and the making of the cover paintings.

For those who could not make it to Tokyo for the special exhibit, the DVD and Blu Ray release is a beautiful alternative. The DVD will run 3990 yen, Blu Ray 6090 yen starting December 19th.

Another special bonus will be a Studio Ghibli matchbox- displaying Oga's painting of Totoro in a deep slumber (shown above).

Miyazaki's Next Film Announced!!

The new movie is "Gake no ue no Ponyo"- Ponyo On A Cliff
Hayao Miyazaki's newest creation is expected to be released in the the summer of 2008.

The story will be about a Princess goldfish named Ponyo and a little boy named Sosuke. The goldfish wants to become human.

Miyazaki has had great success with his movies throughout the world, winning an Oscar in the US (the first Japanese animation to do so).

We look forward to his newest movie!
