Slam Dunk Anime Releases Official Uniforms

Takehiko Inoue's Slam Dunk have released official uniforms for the popular basketball manga and anime series.

Jerseys from 12 different characters are available online and the three main characters: Hanamichi Sakuragi (Shohoku High School), Shinichi Maki (Kainan) and Akira Sendoh (Ryonan), are included in DVD box sets.

If you have the DVDs pick up the jerseys online via Rinkya Stores via Toei Animation for 10,290 yen a piece.

Deadline for orders are August 31 for the first batch and October 31 for the second batch.

Japan's Elderly Get Pizza to Quit Driving

Japan has a rapidly increasing elderly population- and many of them still want to drive.

There are no age limits for driver's licenses in Japan and they do not plan on having any restrictions, but rather tests to weed out bad drivers and incentives for people to give up their licenses. They hope it will lessen the 100k plus accidents attributed to the aging population.

The Tokyo government has recruited many businesses to offer incentives such as pizza, hotels and amusement park discounts in return for giving up your driver license.

The 102 year old interviewed for the article here, thinks it may just be about that time.
