Robot AutoMee S Cleans Your Smartphone!

If you are like me, who's too lazy to carry around smartphone cleaner, why don't you get AutoMee S so we can have more fun cleaning our phones?

Takara Tomy's new gadget AutoMee S is a handy little robot that helps you clean smartphone/tablet surfaces you wish.

This palm-sized little buddy, ran by a single AA battery, automatically slides and moves around on dirty displays and cleans it as it goes. And it's smart enough to find edges so you don't have to worry about it falling off. It's essentially a mini-Roomba for smartphones and tablets.

Now you can just sit back and relax, while the robot is doing its job!
For other color options (pink, white, blue), see here.

Bikini Clad Girls Ride Bikini Clad Robots in New Shinjuku Restaurant

Yatter Japan recently visited the new robot restaurant in Shinjunku and has a great recap of the night.

It is not really robots, but it is girls in skimpy outfits, riding robots that are wearing skimpy outfits.

Sounds like an interesting experience, but I would go elsewhere if you want to see robots!

Asia's Oldest Robot!

Meet Gakutensoku! He is the oldest example of a robot from Asia.
He was built in 1928 for Emperor Showa, the longest reigning emperor of Japan at a total of 63 years.

Standing ten feet, 6 inches, the robot was twice the height of the emperor.

Spending lots of money ($200,000) Japan has reanimated the 80 year old robot!

Gizmodo has a video here, the slow movements of the robot are very creepy looking!! I could not watch the whole thing, yes I am a wuss!

Attack of the 59 Foot Gundam!

Move over Godzilla your match may have been met. This 59 foot tall Gundam is a life size version of the popular Japanese Anime Robot.

The pictures were released now since the official website for Gundam Crisis is now open.

The Gundam Crisis attraction will open at Fuji-Q Highland, located at the foot of Mt Fuji.

Visitors to the park will be given mission objectives, only ones who clear the mission can enter Gundam's cockpit.

I see why Japan drafted laws for Robots, this is one scary, cool looking robot!

RoboGames International Robot Competition!

The world's largest robot competition takes place this coming weekend in California, USA. Robots from around the globe compete in over 70 different events.
Events include soccer, kung fu, and sumo wrestling.

Pictured above are event medal winners, Sony Aibos playing soccers, and robots in combat- all from last year's events!

Japan's Gold medal winner "Plen" is expected to add roller skating and skateboarding to his many talents in this year's games.

The International Robot Games are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest robot competition in the world.
The games began in 2004 as a way to draw attention to the many different robot engineer creators and perhaps build on the ideas of others.

Japan Creepy Baby Robot!

Japan has developed a robot that mimics the actions of a baby of 1-2 years of age.
The robot was designed to study child development.
The name is CB2, and scientists hope with time, the robot will age to a mental age of 3.

The study should be interesting but this robot gives me the chills, it is the creepiest looking thing and it stands at 4 feet tell, hardly a baby.
I would have nightmares it was coming to get me if I worked at the lab.

Ms. Butterworth's Meets Darth Vader

Pictured above is the world's first robot designed to discuss and present vinegar.
Yes, you read correctly, it says "vinegar".

Tamanoi Vinegar Corporation begins using the 6 foot, 220 pound robot in July.
No wonder Japan felt the need to draft laws on robots.

He looks scary to me, maybe he is pissed he has to talk about vinegar and that they put him in a skirt.
He does not have a light saber but he does have a pointer, so do not mess with him!

Japan Drafts Laws to Prevent A Robot World Domination and Take Over!

To be more exact, Japan has proposed a: "Draft Guidelines to Secure the Safe Performance of Next Generation Robots" (I still think Preventing Robot Domination and World Take Over is more interesting!)

The draft consists of measure to record any injury towards humans and to make this information readily available.

With Japan's large elderly population and decreasing younger population, robot reliance for everyday activities are predicted to be increased in the coming years and robots to become a more integrated part of daily life.

The robot has the utmost manners (calling you Sir), comes to you at your call, pours tea and cleans up afterwards.
